The Gap Year.

In a matter of hours i will be trying out on bass guitar for my friends band "The Gap Year". Soon as this band started up they had my attention, being a huge fan of pop punk i really wanted to be a part of it, They already had a bassist at the time so i just sat back and watched the youtube videos of a fucking awesome band starting to form (see video below). 

To my luck the bassist and the band have parted ways and i have been given the opportunity to try out! Growing up i listened to bands like Blink 182, Jimmy Eat World & New Found Glory then i got a bit older and it turned to Brand New, Alkaline Trio & Glassjaw then after that it got to Refused then to Comeback Kid and so on. I have a huge love of all types of music but bands like Brand New and Jimmy Eat World have always been the kind of bands i wanted to be in. I love playing hardcore and will continue to play that genre for a long time but what I'm trying to say is given the opportunity to tour in a band like the gap year is something i would never say no to.

X for 2010.

An idea i got off of a friend. 

Ten goals for the year of 2010... 

I have written about this in great depth and in time maybe i will show it to others but for now its personal.

Quite simply i wish to change nearly everything about me.

1. I am going to start volunteering, as i am not currently working i feel it is a good way to use my time selflessly. I am going to knuckle down in looking for a job, i really do this already but I'm sure there is more i can do. 

2. I wish to make more music and better myself as a musician. 

3. I want to go on tour, I want to do this more than anything. No one will ever understand this about me.

4. I enjoy writing, How good i am at this is another thing altogether but as i enjoy it i may as well do something about it! I am going to attempt to write something, be it a script or a Novel of sorts.

5. Pass my driving test, i need to get places other than Canterbury.

6. See my friends more, Jon, Glenn, Kyle and Ollie.. This means you.

7. Move out. This can only be made possible if i get a job so time will tell.

8. I have finally bought a decent camera so number 8 is take fuck loads of photos. I enjoy photography a lot so i am looking forward to this.

9. I want to go to Canada. Something has alway tied me to this place i have no idea why but i really want to go there.

10. Number ten is to get all this done, to actually stick to something for once in my life. I am 21 and 22 in a matter of months, this doesnt mean i am growing up it means its starting.. whatever "IT" is.

Round II.

I'm going to try this again, This will be where i will leave my thoughts and whats going on in my life, even if nobody else reads this i know it is here and that i can look back on it.
